Students Dress Up as Their Favorite Book Character at ISC-Amman

Date: Thursday, February 2, 2017

On Thursday, May 12, 2016, the SABIS Student Life Organization® (SLO®) at the International School of Choueifat – Amman (ISC-Amman) in Jordan invited students in grades 1 to 9 to come to school dressed as their favorite book character.

The activity was part of the school’s annual push to encourage students to read more. In addition to dressing as their favorite book characters, students also had the opportunity to speak about their character during class.

The students were inspired and enjoyed the activity a lot. According to Tia Zabaneh, a Grade 7 student at ISC-Amman, “Books are the plane, the train, and the road. They are the destination, and the journey all at once. Your mind sinks into reading a book like one sinks into a dream. When I finish reading a good book, I feel so enlightened with what I’ve learned and dazzled by the magic that I experienced.”
