The Cambridge School of Bucharest Celebrates Victory at La Voie Royal Semi-Marathon

On Saturday, October 25, 2015, six students from the running club at Cambridge School of Bucharest (CSB), a member of the global SABIS® Network, participated in the La Voie Royal semi-marathon in France and returned home victorious!

La Voie Royal is an international semi-marathon that takes place in Saint Denis, France. The semi-marathon, which has been held every year for the past 22 years, is an important event on runners’ calendars, attracting runners from all over the world to participate in a variety of races including a half-marathon, 10K, 5K, and youth races. This was the first time the CSB running club participated in the event and the six CSB runners did not disappoint!

Aliss Abdel Hamid, Grade 11, earned first place in the 10K race for girls against 12 other runners. Sara Atansiu, Grade 11, earned 3rd place in the 5K race for girls against 16 other runners. The girls received medals and certificates for their accomplishment as well as gifts from the event’s sponsors. It was a great experience for all six CSB runners who also received participation medals.
