Testimonials

I want to express my appreciation for all ISC-Cairo has done. For the first time, I feel that my child really likes going to school. He wakes up early and now fulfills his promise to his teacher by attending the morning assembly line and completing all assigned homework. I am really happy and I cannot believe that with a bit of encouragement he would change. Thank you all for your cooperation and for taking the time to listen and find a solution. Thank you so much and I wish you all the best.

I don’t have to look far to know how successful the SABIS® system is. My daughter, Sevan, graduated from ISC-Dubai in 2006 and she enrolled in McGill University at the age of 17, as a second-year student given her AP credits. She graduated in 2009, with first-class honors, from the computer science program, with a minor in philosophy - just two months short of her twentieth birthday. Currently, she is working on her master’s thesis after finishing all required coursework. All this and she is not yet 21! She was brought up in the Choueifat system which taught the students to not only excel but to be leaders.

I believe there are few places like the International School of Choueifat-Erbil in Kurdistan. I have enjoyed the international environment and the opportunity to work hard and immediately see the results. We are doing very important development work in this school, and it has been very satisfying for me personally to be part of the Iraqi nation-building on a different level.

SIS-Adma Grade 4 Students Enjoy a Trip to North Lebanon

On Saturday, November 7th, a holiday, in beautiful weather, SIS-Adma Grade 4 students enjoyed an educational trip to “ZGHARTA”, a village in North Lebanon. The trip was organized to help students discover the various aspects of life in the Lebanese countryside.

The trip started with a tour of an olive orchard with two trained guides. After listening to an interesting presentation, the students took part in a discussion about the history and harvesting methods of olives in Lebanon. What they learned ignited their interest and they all took their baskets and went on to pick olives from the trees. After sorting out the olive leaves, they listened to a chemist from a local canning company, “AL WADI AL AKHDAR”, explain how the solution to preserve canned olives is made.

This tour was followed by a workshop where jewelry from olive tree leaves was being made by hand. Through this activity, students learned how to be creative without using artificial materials. They also had the chance to see and feed a range of animals on the farm adjoining the orchard.

By then, the fourth graders were ready for lunch. They gathered to delight in a traditional open-air Lebanese lunch, after which they left to “WILLANI”, a company that owns two of the most modern presses for the extraction of olive oil. When they arrived, they started the visit by watching a video about the company’s work after which they toured the building and enjoyed visiting the laboratories and watching the machines.

The day ended in another Northern village, “BNACHII”, where students enjoyed a walk by the lake and sat down to savor an afternoon snack.

The first outing of the year, this educational trip, is one of many activities organized by SIS-Adma to offer students the opportunity to explore the Lebanese countryside and learn more about their country while enjoying a fun day with their classmates.
