Testimonials

I want to express my appreciation for all ISC-Cairo has done. For the first time, I feel that my child really likes going to school. He wakes up early and now fulfills his promise to his teacher by attending the morning assembly line and completing all assigned homework. I am really happy and I cannot believe that with a bit of encouragement he would change. Thank you all for your cooperation and for taking the time to listen and find a solution. Thank you so much and I wish you all the best.

I don’t have to look far to know how successful the SABIS® system is. My daughter, Sevan, graduated from ISC-Dubai in 2006 and she enrolled in McGill University at the age of 17, as a second-year student given her AP credits. She graduated in 2009, with first-class honors, from the computer science program, with a minor in philosophy - just two months short of her twentieth birthday. Currently, she is working on her master’s thesis after finishing all required coursework. All this and she is not yet 21! She was brought up in the Choueifat system which taught the students to not only excel but to be leaders.

I believe there are few places like the International School of Choueifat-Erbil in Kurdistan. I have enjoyed the international environment and the opportunity to work hard and immediately see the results. We are doing very important development work in this school, and it has been very satisfying for me personally to be part of the Iraqi nation-building on a different level.

SABIS® Establishes School in Suleimaniah, Kurdistan

SABIS® Establishes School in Suleimaniah, Kurdistan

In the Suleimaniah province, Kurdistan, SABIS® was present on July 14, 2009 for the laying of the foundation stone of its newest member school.  This endeavor falls in the framework of the 3-year educational project that the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and SABIS® Educational Services have embarked on to raise the standards of education in Kurdistan.  This cooperation has already reaped success with the establishment of private and public-private schools in Kurdistan, as well as a SABIS® University.

The school’s foundation stone laying ceremony was held in the presence of the First Lady of Iraq, Mrs. Hero Talibani, the KRG Prime Minister, Mr. Nechirvan Barzani, the Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister, Dr. Berham Salehi, as well as other government and partisan officials.

During the ceremony, Prime Minister Barzani praised the endeavor, “It is yet another start of a successful International School of Choueifat in Suleimaniah and soon in Dohuk. I am pleased with the results achieved by SABIS® in Kurdistan as SABIS® is helping to build the human capacity of the Kurdish people.”

The permanent campus of the International School of Choueifat - Suleimaniah, which will be  designed by Khatib and Alami and will be  built by Gorkem (Turkish Company) and Zozek (local company), will stretch over a 50,000 sq.m. plot of land in the Rapareen quarter and will house numerous modern-day amenities. Until the campus is completed in September 2011, the school shall operate from a temporary facility located in Suleimaniah German Village and will welcome students from Grade 1 to 3 starting November 1st, 2009.

The International School of Choueifat - Suleimaniah is the second SABIS® operated private school in the Kurdistan Region.  The first private school is the International School of Choueifat - Erbil, which opened its doors in September 2006 and will serve over 1,000 students in Kindergarten through Grade 8 in AY 2009-10. Today, after three years in operation, ISC-Erbil is attracting local and international parents, who are eager to provide their children with a high-quality educational experience that helps them become responsible world-class citizens.

SABIS® is a global education management organization that is distinguished by a 123-year track record in the operation of Pre-K and K–12 schools.  The SABIS® School Network has grown to become a well-reputed global network consisting of schools in 15 countries serving over 56,000 students and 4,500 employees in the 2009-10 academic year.
